Well, just signed up for this year's walk in Chicago. Along with Sandi and Hedds. Nana is soon to follow... You may notice that I changed the layout here. Still gotta put the links onto the sidebar. Soon, soon.

So tonight’s walking involved taking Maverick out to try to tire him out. I totally succeeded! Poor little dude parked himself in a lawn, laid out, and refused to move for a few minutes. Even then we had a good twenty minute walk to get home…

I really need to add grades to my workout – realizing that NYC is far hillier than friggin’ these flatlands…

Haikus

Its too bad my Avon Walk site doesn’t have the listing of contributors like it did last year… It may help you if you are trying to figure out who the other haiku subjects are ;)

I also have to admit I have some haikus pre-written cause I hoping certain people are going to donate *crossing fingers*

Out a Avon Wakkin'

So I went out a-walkin tonight…

I was so incredibly pissed off at work… I needed to let off some steam AND I needed to deposit some monies at the bank. So out into the cool breezy evening I went with my trusty Avon Walk Hiking Pack, a bottle of water, and Liz Phair to keep me company.

I took the scenic route through the neighborhood towards the bank. I remembered biking these sidewalks when I was much much younger. My sister and I would take this way to the park. So even after doing my banking I’d decided to keep walking away from the house to go to the park.

I’d forgotten how high school kids would hang out there, jumping skate boards off picnic table, climbing the play area designed for kids half their size, and gossiping in the shadows….

The lovely little high from moving my body… I’d missed that feeling… I can’t believe that I get to have that feeling in NYC.

Oh.. that and I thought up some hiakus (haikii?) and composed my next letter for fundraising…

blah

Eh. I haven’t been walking.

I haven’t been doin much of anything. I’m hitting a wall.

Though I did have a pretty inspirational experience, this past week. I think at this point I’m even more afraid of my potential than my reality.

Trying to save up on gas money, I’ll be doing a lot of walking in the next few days. Perhaps that will get me started up again. Another thing is MissJenna, AnneGirl, and have decided to try to be even more aerobic than dancing in order to get into shape. So there that.

Ugh I’m so blah right now… more later…

Sunday 2

So this week.. well, this Sunday was crazy hot.

And I spent a part of it helping Anne-girl move back home. Instead of walking, helped move, ate ALOT of Reza's, and lounged by a pool with some beer.

Hoped to have walked yesterday or Monday.. alas... too muggy or outright down pouring. NO fun. So perhaps tonight if only to get away from Mar and collect some Chi. I need it I've been so horribly distracted and my energies all over the place...I'm hoping a good long walk will help...

Look for more info on bodacious tata tees and massage specials from me to help raise me some more funds.

Thanks again to those that have contributed thus far... if I could write an ode to y'all I would... maybe I'll write a hiaku...

Sundays

are training days for me.

So after Lindy By the Lake, I went ahead and walked from North Ave Beach to Union Station... Horrible day for it, so humid, but every once in a while a lovely breeze off of the lake.

Every practice walk turns into a adventures. I'd left North Ave beach earlier than I had originally planned because I was getting hot and tired and I'd rotated through all the leads....

Good thing too.. I'd made a pit stop at Moonlight Chocolatiers and got an Earl Grey chocolate...cause I bloody well deserved it...Then as I was passing by the Hard Rock Hotel, I found my OTHER bartender. So if ever you find yourself by the China Grill, go on in there and order up a Long Hard Ronnie from the cute good smellin' Irish bartender. I, unfortunately, had a train to catch so none for me... boo..

Purposefully went past the Art Institute to see the display for the Toulouse-Lautrec and Montmartre exhibit. Looks awesome - will have to go... perhaps another walk...
